该水供工程应该是为古达居民提供长期供水计划，包括解决严重食水短缺的问题，该项工程耗费约马币3亿令吉以上的款项。 该工程包括兴建储存水的水坝和食水处理厂。 该座食水处理厂是位于一条小溪旁约几公里远的地方。 此外有一条新的水管从食水处理厂连接现有哥打马鲁都至古达的大水管。

沙行动党团队于周六七月十七日探访古达期间，特别被该处的居民要求视察该项水供计划工程。民主行动党党员在视察时，对该水库感到很质疑之外，同时也感到很失望和震惊。 整座大型的水库却是兴建在一个空旷的山谷。 放眼看去该处根本没有溪流或任何水源，只看到一个干旱的空谷。

The Sabah DAP team visited the new Kudat water supply long term scheme, the Milau dam site and its water treatment plant in Kudat near Sikuati. 

The water supply is supposed to supply water to the Kudat district under a long term plan to cover the shortage of water in the district, with a cost of RM 300 millions or more. The project involved the construction of a water catchment and storage reservoir with a dam embankment. The water treatment plant is located downstream few kilometers away next to a small stream. A new pipe line was constructed to link up from the treatment plant to connect to the existing pipeline from Kota Marudu to Kudat. 

The Sabah DAP team was specially urged to go to the site by the Kudat folks during its visit recently on Saturday, 17^th July.  Very surprisingly, the sight of the dam site wasn’t impressive at all, and it made the DAP members felt disappointed and rather shocked by the sight. The whole dam catchment area is just an embankment with an empty valley, and no water can be seen anyway. There is no stream or any water source in the catchment area, and it is just a dry valley.

（penumpang），沙巴民主行動黨署理主席黃仕平指出，沙巴團結黨也是國陣和
巫統的“乘客”。

他說，於一九八六年至一九九四年，沙巴團結黨在國陣里面的八年里，沙巴人口
比率，比起西馬和砂拉越，還是在不正常成長，可見沙巴團結黨當時雖身在國陣
，卻沒有針對非法移民的問題，採取任何行動，只是在背後默默支持國陣。

他表示，於一九七三年，沙巴的人口是六十四萬八千六百九十三人，砂拉越是九
十七萬二百六十九人，一九八零年時，沙巴的人口上升了五十六倍達一百萬十三
人，而砂拉越則只上升廿七巴仙達一百廿三萬人。

到一九九一年時，沙巴的人口增長至一百八十萬人，上升率是七十八萬人，而砂
拉越是一百六十二萬人，只上升了卅三巴仙。

到二零零零年時，沙巴的人口為二百六十三萬人，增長率是四十四巴仙及砂拉越
只有二百零二萬人，增長率為只有廿三巴仙。

從一九七零年至二零零零年之間，沙巴人口劇增三百一十巴仙，砂拉越為一百零
六巴仙，顯得有異。

斯里丹絨州議員黃仕平是今日，在民行黨亞庇國會辦事處召開記者會，在場者包
括亞庇國會議員邱慶洲博士及愛德溫波斯博士。

他說，「雖然沙巴團結黨從當年開始就將“解決非法移民”問題列為主要的競選
宣言，但當巫統站在他們面前時，他們也做不到什麼，當他們於二零零三年重返
國陣時，又講回同樣的課題。」

「若沙巴團結黨和國陣都有誠意解決非法移民的問題，為何非法人民人數只上不
下？」

Sabah DAP Kudat Branch organised a dinner gathering to mark the party’s foray into Kudat. Sabah DAP Kudat Parliament Liaison Chief Edward Lu said in his welcoming speech that Kudat is slowly forgotten by the BN government. He said his team will try to revive the economy of this town by organizing an agriculture and food fiesta on a regular basis. He hopes to give incentive for farmers to work harder and at the same time attract more local people and tourists to Kudat. 

Sabah DAP Chief YB Dr Hiew King Cheu who graced the function talked about the Ma Tzu statue which was disallowed to be erected by the BN government. This is extremely weird situation where a statue which is to be erected by former LDP President and Chief Minister is not supported by the current UMNO-led government.  YB Dr Hiew said that Kudat has lost an iconic structure which could have boosted its tourism potential. According to YB Dr Hiew, the Ma Tzu statue is not a religious structure at all where people will come and pray while bearing offerings. He mentioned about PAS-led Kelantan where the tallest Buddha statue stands amongst the temple and mosque.

沙巴民主行动党古达国会联委会主办聚会，同时庆祝古达新支部成立。 沙行动党古达国会选区负责人鲁道光在他的致词中说古达已经被国阵政府遗忘了。他说他的团队将会举办农业和食品‘斗磨’及设法提升古达的经济状况，虽然力量有限，最低限度党方面还会积极去推行。 他希望这能够激励农民更加努力地工作，同时也举办更多活动来吸引更多人及游客到古达。沙巴民主行动党州主席邱庆洲博士在他的演词中说，有关国阵政府不允许妈祖像被竖立的课题引起大家的共鸣。 他说该神像是由前自民党主席兼前首席部长建议竖立，但是却不获得巫统政府和其领导支持。 邱博士说，古达因而失去了一个能够提升旅游业，吸引游客的观光景点。 邱氏指出该妈祖神像并不是全为宗教，也不是让人们前来膜拜。 他举例吉兰丹其中最高的佛像之一的寺庙和清真寺，目前是西马有名的游览胜地，每年吸引许多游客前往参观。

Sabah DAP leaders and members today visited the site where the huge MaZu statute is supposed to be erected. Very surprisingly they found the “sad sight” where the beautiful MaZu statute is just pieces of components spread out and laying on the open field, under the sun and rain, only with its head part in a shed. 

It was merely a sorry stage of affair which involving a mixture of political, race, governmental, departmental and religion interferences, that caused the beautiful MaZu statute remains until today as broken components laying on the ground. If without all these obstructions, interferences and had even gone to court, the MaZu statute could have been long erected and standing high to attract plenty of valued tourists to the Kudat town.

设立这神像因受到内政，政治，种族，政府部门和宗教的干扰，造成美丽的妈祖像直到今天仍然是破碎的在地面上铺设着。如果没有所有这些干扰，事件被带上法庭，妈祖像是可以竖立建好，及吸引大量游客到古达来瞻仰。

一项简单竖立妈祖像的建设已变成一项课题，真正的事实是我们的政府没有做正确的事。 这一起决定引起许多古达人的不满。  当邱博士和党员在探访期间深深体会到古达人对政府的决定深感不满。人们觉得对他们非常不公平，有的甚至愤怒发言，要求神像的问题应立即解决，并允许该神像的建立，他们要求政府立即解除禁令。

I refer to the article in The Borneo Post “PBS remains committed to progress in Sabah” of 9th July 2010. This article is in response to YB Jimmy Wong’s statement that PBS has deviated and failed to achieve its political, social and economic agenda since rejoining the Barisan National (BN) in 2002. 

Sabah DAP sympathises with PBS for losing the seat of power through underhand tactics of UMNO and BN and supported by SAPP in 1994. For years, PBS has worked hard to meet the aspiration of Sabahans in line with their slogan “Sabah for Sabahans”. PBS withdrawal from BN was one of the party’s worse political decisions. It only expedited the UMNO-controlled Federal government to facilitate the registration of illegal immigrants in order to out-number the non-Muslim Natives who are perceived to be aligned to PBS. Before PBS pulled out of BN, the process of assimilating illegal immigrants has commenced even before PBS came to power. This unfortunately was not taken into consideration by the leaders in PBS. This fact is well documented and PBS information Chief Datuk Johnny Mositun can and should ask former PBS Supreme Council member Dr. Chong Eng Leong over this issue.  There are several books and individuals which and who have openly talked about this issue respectively. 

Sabah DAP agrees with YB Jimmy Yong that the increase in the State legislative assembly seats from 48 to 60 and the delineation of electoral boundaries has favoured UMNO and BN. With the new Bumiputra of Sabah entering the electoral roll, UMNO and BN’s future in Sabah is assured. Sabah DAP is perplexed of why Mositun called this irresponsible and mischievous claim. Thus, when the Prime Minister said Sabah is the “Fixed Deposit” of BN he knows what he is talking about. Sabah DAP wants to remind Mositun that the FD referred to by the PM is not the component parties such as PBS but rather the new Bumiputra of Sabah. It is not surprising why a two-third majority in Parliament is so crucial for UMNO. If UMNO Sabah can increase more state seats then, the party will be impossible to dislodge from power in any near future.
